Doula Support
We have a secret in our culture,
and it's not that birth is painful.
It's that women are strong.
~Laura Stavoe Harm
The Initial Interview is where we meet with you in person to make sure we're all comfortable with each other. This is when we'll go over your wishes & concerns, where you'll be birthing, who your care provider will be, etc. This interview is at no extra charge.
If we're compatible for each other, we will then set up a time to get together in order to go over the specifics. At the Prenatal Visit, we will discuss your birth plan, labor positions, comfort measures, birth partner's desire of involvement, details (music, candles, aromatherapy, film/photography) and travel logistics.
There will be unlimited Phone, Text & Email Support for your encouragement as well as to answer any questions & concerns you may have as you near baby's birth.
Our Continuous Labor Support will begin when we're contacted by you, at which time we will discuss how you're coping and give additional suggestions. When we arrive at your home or birthplace we will begin the hands-on phase of labor support, maintaining the rhythm you have established or offering other effective measures, depending on your progress and coping needs. Once your precious little one(s) is nestled in your arms, we will assist you in establishing a good foundation for breastfeeding; making sure you and baby are settled-in before we leave.
Several days after the birth, we will meet with you for a Postpartum Visit to go over the events of your labor and baby's arrival, as well as to answer your breastfeeding questions, and if needed, refer you to a lactation consultant. At this time, we would be grateful to receive your feedback regarding our services in order to better serve others.
What do we charge for doula support? See Fees for details.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”
Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses,
so that the power of Christ may dwell in me...
for when I am weak, then I am strong.
